Oakridge Energy has filed with the BC Utilities Commission
Oakridge Energy is a proposed District Energy Utility that will design and deliver a low-carbon energy system for Oakridge that provides thermal energy through a combination of innovative heating and cooling technologies. This includes a closed loop geo-exchange field, a waste heat recovery system, electric boilers, electric chillers, and high-efficiency natural gas boilers.
The reductions achieved by Oakridge as a result of this proposed system will be equivalent to planting 160,000 trees annually or taking 1,300 cars off the road.
Oakridge Energy (Oakridge Energy LP/GP Inc.) has filed with the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) an application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) to construct and operate a District Energy System for the provision of thermal energy service to Oakridge.
